Siddhartha- This book is about the life of Siddhartha, a boy who spends his life in search of enlightenment. This is a book that I related to very well when I first read it, because I felt whichever lesson Siddhartha learned for the first time during his travels, I would learn it for the first time as well. The book can be taken in different ways. For example, some may think it's a guide to live by while some may think it's a tragedy. I believe that this makes the book more worthwhile, as it asks the reader if what they think the right thing to do actually is. I Am America (And So Can You!) - This book is written by the comedian "Stephen Colbert", who wrote about his views on multiple subjects mostly in America. The Seventh Tower - I read this series during elementary and middle school, and it encouraged me to read, even anticipating when the author would release the next book. The first thing that comes to mind when I think how the media have been blamed for real life problems, is when people claim that the media controls our perspective of beauty. The shows and commercials on TV have a large percentage of unrealistically attractive people, most of which have been prepared for hours beforehand in order to fill their roles. Some people have been led to believe that this is what the standard of how people should look like and act like, and start to feel as if something wrong is with them if they don't match up to these 'average' people portrayed. Whoever this has affected can blame the media for misleading them, and possibly creating some sort of problem in their lives.

Media in my Life

I was born November 8th, 1990. As a toddler, I was introduced to T.V. shows such as Barney, Thomas the Tank Engine, and Power Rangers. As I aged, I continued to watch T.V., although it's difficult to recall exactly how much I watched, I remember that they were mostly cartoons on either Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network.

My range of shows remained the same until around middle school, where I began watching Comedy Central. However, I wasn't able to watch some of the shows because my parents considered some to be more adult themed that others, such as South Park. I was able to sneak in an episode on occasion, but it wasnt until around high school that I was able to watch any show on a regular basis.

During High school I realized the internet, as I got a computer of my own and spent time in the schools library with other friends. I visited sites such as flashplayer, newgrounds, ebaumsworld, and any other place my friends suggested to me.
